Mary Butler is made Honorary Life Member

The final evening of a fantastic production of Me and My Girl, saw one of the Society's driving forces and inspirations being honoured as an Honorary Life Member after TMS President Alice O'Brien came on stage to welcome Chairman Mary Butler into the distinguished line-up.

Mary was taken aback as Alice informed her that she was being honoured – a fitting year to make her an Honorary Life Member considering it is the 60th anniversary of the first production – her father Martin T Butler had been the founding Secretary of the Society while her mother Kit was also an Honorary Life Member. It was, former leading lady, Alice O'Brien's first appearance on stage with TMS in 27 years and she remained on with the chorus for the closing encore as the Lambeth Walk reverberated throughout the Premier.
