Michael Molumby's fundraiser

Thurles Musical Society member Michael Molumby is pictured presenting a cheque for in excess of 20,000 Euro to Mary Dwyer for the Hospice Movement - the proceeds of his hugely successful and popular CD entitled 'Circling the Square'.
Michael made the presentation to Mary - sister of the Late Matty Ryan - who was a great friend to our Society and an inspirational figure within the Hospice Movement for many years. The presentation took place in the Anner Hotel at our 'That's Entertainment' show after Michael had performed the number Smile - no doubt Matty would have been smiling broadly also as he loved musical theatre and a good party.
Accompanying Michael is his wife Maria as well as TMS members Finbarr Shelly, Donal Taylor, Noel Dundon, Jonathon Gleeson and Mary Callanan.

Congratulations to all concerned, especially to Michael, Maria, the Molumby family, and all those who took part.
Tickets for 'That's Entertainment' will be available prior to the show at Bookworm, Liberty Square, Thurles, from company members, and at the door on the night.

TMS to Host 'That's Entertainment'

Thurles Musical Society is delighted to announce that we will be staging a special concert in the Anner Hotel on Thursday May 20th entitled "That's Entertainment" which will feature a whole series of songs from the most popular musicals.
The show, which will be a warm up for the soloists and chorus in advance of their appearance in the prestigious New Ross Choral Festival, will feature musicals such as Chess, The Pirates of Penzance, Rent, Sweeney Todd, Guys and Dolls, Jekyll and Hyde, Blood Brothers and Ragtime to mention just a few. The Society is privileged to have been asked to host the annual Saturday evening concert in new Ross as part of the Festival - a huge honour indeed, and the company has been very busy in recent weeks preparing for the show.

Thurles audiences will be very pleased to have the chance of seeing the show in the Anner Hotel on the Thursday and with tickets priced at just 10 Euro, there really is tremendous value for money in toe.

Musical Director/ Chorus Mistress Mary Rose McNally, working with Joan Farrell has been very busy ensuring that the chorus and soloists are on track to be ready for the Thursday evening while Mary Butler is overseeing the whole project in conjunction with Choreographers Rosalie Butler and Trisha McElgunn.

Some of the musical numbers included feature the likes of Anthem, Tell Me It's Not True, The Foeman, Till We reach That Day, Facade, Sit Down You're Rocking the Boat and many more.
The company was delighted to swing back into action so soon after the wonderful run of Jekyll and Hyde. Normally, there would be a good break for all involved, but this year saw a quick return to rehearsals and a chance to re-live the many special moments which made the show, and the run, so memorable.

Tickets for 'That's Entertainment' will be available prior to the show at Bookworm, Liberty Square, Thurles, from company members, and at the door on the night.
Keep watching this space for further information.
